Rising junior and IDA fellow Kareem Alston landed a coveted internship this summer with Brooklyn, New York's Urban Bush Women. Kareem was very much the life blood of IDA's rebirth this year - organizing jam sessions, managing our social presence, as well as bringing down the house with The Chocolate Heads - and he'll continue on as a fellow for the 2012-2013 academic year. A native of New York, Hip-Hop head, and of course an African & African American studies major concentrating in IDA (identity, diversity, and aesthetics) with an infectious smile, we're sure Kareem will leave his mark with Urban Bush Women (UBW). Check out UBW's recent profile of Kareem below, and keep an eye out for this young dancer in the future. #IDArida
