Stanford’s Office of Community Engagement (OCE) has granted IDA one of its competitive awards to deepen community engagement with youth and arts in partnership with the EPACENTER for the arts. One of eight 2021 OCE funding awards IDA was recognize for its work with the center to expand opportunities for East Palo Alto youth through art and design. The project awarded will focus on creating an arts curriculum that emphasizes co-learning between EPACENTER teachers and Stanford students. The cross-campus faculty and staff selection committee was particularly impressed by their proactive proposal and how their work exemplifies the many ways that Stanford faculty members are leaning into the regional needs during these challenging times.
IDA will receive $34,000 from OCE to be used on curriculum development and teacher training.
